Dr. Merchant is a graduate of Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Beaumont Hospital in Michigan. Prior to medicine, Dr. Merchant completed her undergraduate degree in Business Administration at Baylor University and was a Senior Manager at a worldwide consulting firm specializing in project management and organizational change.
Dr. Merchant is full time ED physician with North Phoenix Emergency Associates. She holds multiple leadership positions at John C. Lincoln Hospital including Associate Medical Director for the Emergency Department, Chairman of Emergency Department representing the emergency department at executive meetings, and Sepsis Committee Chair. She is also involved in regional sepsis initiatives, developed and publishes the bi-monthly group newsletter, developed and leads their group social committee, and participates in site process improvement initiatives.
