Adult Acute Care Essentials

Overview

Adult Acute Care Essentials is a one day conference that teaches you to recognize and treat many of the common pathologies that present in the acute care setting. Maintaining an organized approach to chief complaints such as chest pain, abdominal pain, weakness, and fever is crucial to caring for patients in the Emergency Department and Urgent Care. This conference is designed for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and students who work in an acute care environment.

Acute Abdominal Pain

Discuss the best imaging techniques and labs to order based on your differential diagnoses and learn the most appropriate disposition.

Adult Back Pain

Learn the red flags of back pain and improve your ability to find critical pathologies that can lead to devastating outcomes in patients.

Stroke and other Acute Neurologic Pathologies

Stroke is the most concerning neurologic emergency. Learn how to recognize and treat acute stroke. Discover stroke mimics and other acute neurologic pathologies that present in the acute care setting.

Sepsis and Acute Infections

Recognizing sepsis and initiating treatment in a timely manner can save lives. Learn how to identify sepsis, initiate treatment and disposition your patients appropriately.

Chest Pain

Not all chest pain is cardiac related. After this discussion you will have the tools to develop a broad differential diagnosis allowing you to initiate appropriate workups for your patients.
